KNIMAN LADY PASSES AWAY OF HEART ATTACK

"From Kankakee Valley Post of 12/8/1950, p.1:
Mrs. Gertrude Wilmington Dies at Jasper County Hospital Mrs. Catherine Gertrude Wilmington of Kniman, widow of Elmer Wilmington and mother of Norman Wilmington, former Jasper COunty deputy sheriff, died at Jasper county hospital at 2:25 a.m., Monday. the death of the well known lady came suddenly following a heart attack of an hour's duration.
Mrs. Wilmington was a daughter of the late Mark and late Mary (Wilger) Ott of Kniman.
She was married to Elmer WilmingtonMay 10, 1922, in Chicago. Mr. WIlmington passed away in 1948.
The immediate survivors are three children, Norman and Marion Wilmington of Kniman and Walter Wilmington of California, a grandson, and five sisters: Mrs. Margaret Kalb of Chicago, Mrs. Marie Kieffer [sic] of Kniman and Mrs. Anna Miller, Mrs. Mildred Weinert and Mrs. Frances Erne, all of Chicago. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Bricker, and a brother, Theodore Ott.
The funeral services were held from Sorrowful Mother church of Wheatfield of which the deceased was a member, at 9 o'clock Thursday morning, with the Rev. Fr. Donald Hardebeck, C.PP.S., officiating.
