Most state parks for some reason have hundreds of stairs to climb. Here is Split Rock SP, MN.

A rare lone view of Gooseberry Falls in MN. Most of the time these waters are full of tourists and bathers.

The Superior shoreline is lined with beautiful bluffs in the Grand Portage Indian Reservation, MN.

The lush forests of Rainbow Falls in Ontario.

We hiked the steep hills of Rainbow Falls' muddy forest in steady rain.

One of my favorite campgrounds in the universe was at Rainbow Falls.

A river flows toward Lake Superior near Schreiber.

A river cuts through the thick forests of Northern Ontario.

The boreal forests near Terrace Bay, ON.

White River, ON, is the birthplace of the real-life Winnie-the-Pooh and it is the middle of nowhere... literally.

This great goose looks westward from a hill over the Trans-Canada Highway as it leads out of Wawa.

Sunshine over Silver Falls at Wawa, ON.

Climbing the rocks near the Agawa pictographs.

The Mackinac Bridge at St. Ignace, MI.

A heroic pose of the sailor man we bought to act as the trip mascot at Petoskey beach in Michigan .

The sun sets over Lake Michigan and our trip. I frequently stop here in St. Joseph, MI.
