"Mary Ott Succombs Monday Morning

Mary Ott died at her home near Kniman early Monday morning at the age of 79 years. She had been ill about three months and died of complications due to her age.

Mrs. Ott came to north Jasper county [sic] forty-four years ago with her husband, Clemens Ott (deceased) from Chicago. She was born June 22, 1863 in Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wilger.

Besides her husband, two children, theodore Ott and Mrs. Joseph Ott Bricker, preceded her in death. Surviving are six daughters, Marie Kiefer, Anna Millerand gertrude Wilmington of Kniman, and Margaret Kalb, Mildred Weinert and Frances Erne of Chicago. Also twenty-three grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ott was a member of Wheatfield Catholic church [sic]. Funeral services were held from there at 10:30 Wednesday with Father Augustyn Konziela conducting. Burial was made in the Wheatfield Catholic cemetary with the Todd Funeral Home in charge."
