Måns Nilsson of Aspeboda [Parents] was born 1 in 1478 in Aspeboda, Dalarna, Sweden (now Falun). He died 2 in 1534 in Stockholm, Södermanland, Sweden. The cause of death was beheaded (capital punishment). He married Magdalena. Måns was employed 3 as tax sheriff (bergsfogde) in 1515/1526 in Dalarna, Sweden. TIMELINE:
1521 Participated in the armies raised by Gutav Vasa against the Danes in Dalarna.
1530s People of Dalarna were accused by King Gustav Vasa of being loyal to the Danes. There was already anger over the suppression of Catholic customs by the king. Mans helped lead his neighbors during the Bell Revolt, one of three revolts in Dalarna against the king.
1534 Executed in Stockholm by King Gustav Vasa, the founder of Sweden

"When Gustav Vasa came to Dalarna and the Danish troops looked for him Måns Nilsson refused to give him up to the Danes. He joined the war of liberation as one of the chiefs for Gustaf Wasa’s lifeguard. After the war he returned to his farm Aspeboda. Gustav Vasa had borrowed money from the Hanseatic merchants in Lybeck and had to pay back. Reformation of the church was one way to get money from the church. The people of Dalarna agreed to that but then the king ordered that every church should give one of their church bells away they rioted - Klockupproret ( Bell revolt ) Måns Nilsson was one of the leading figures. The King came to Dalarna and Måns Nilsson was brought to Stockholm there he was beheaded sometime between 17 Februari and 31 May 1534. His 41 farms were confiscated by the crown. The widow was allowed to keep Aspeboda. Today the local history society owns Aspeboda. 1906 a monument was erected for his memory with inscription : Liberty I loved - Truth and justice"

"Many complained on Nils Månsson and he was in conflict with many. One particular man was Gösta Olsson in Daglösa. When Gösta Olsson with his household on All Saints Day returned home from the Mass in the church Nils Månsson hade arranged three ambushes. Bergsfogden and his son attacked with drown sword and long knives. One hodge was beheaded and several wounded. They took the sword from Gösta Olsson and later they daily carried the sword in front of him."

"Most likely he spent his chilhood at his stepfathers farm Ornäs. The farmhouse still exists. He was halfbrother to Barbro Stigsdotter famous in Swedish history for helping Gustav Vasa to escape the Danish soldiers. Gustaf Vasa had come to Ornäs. Her husband received him but when Gustaf had gone to bed her husband Arendt Persson Örnflyckt ( Frälse)took his sledge and went away to alarm the Danish. Barbro Stigsdotter then let Gustaf Vasa slip away through the hole in the toilet. The toilet was a bay window on second floor. He became Häradshövding in Siende Härad in Västmanland. 1533 he was appointed county judge for Dalarna."

Karin Gustafsdotter Slatte [Parents] was born about 1490 in Satakunta Härad, Finland. She married Otto Nilsson.
