Found on ship manifest traveling with daughter who was right age and going to right city. His father could be Friedrich hardt of the Volga. This matches info found at FamilySearch.org

1902 On March 2, boards the "Patricia", of the Hamburg-Amerika Linie. Ship lands at Plymouth, Bologne, and New York. His emigration papers from the German manifest lists his home as Saratow, Russland. He emigrates with wife and two children. He enters the U.S. through Ellis Island in New York with plans to keep going to Chicago where brother-in-law David Wagner lived on 1903 Norwood Park Av. He is listed as a German farmer from Russia and travels with wife Maria and two children: Beata and Christian. There are other families on the manifest going to the address on Norwood Park Av in Chicago and others listing their contact as David Wagner.
